Opening week on the River Tay on the Dunkeld House Beat . We opened the river on Monday with the usual tradition, a cold start but not bad the river was a bit on the low side this week . but it was good to see the changes to the beat after last Octobers floods, there is some very nice changes to few pools . Wednesday and Thursday were rather cold with temp at the hut being -9 so bit on the cold side . Friday saw a nice change in the temperature coming up and starting a thaw of snow and ice . Saturday the river was starting to slowly rise and the kelts really switched on . Satarday night into Sunday will see a good rise with the heavy rain coming . Should set up next week nice if everything settles down .

Dunkeld House Beat
The best fish of the week and season so far on the Dunkeld House Beat a cracking 31 lb spring salmon
Caught on the Harl in the tail of the Gauge pool and took nearly 50 minutes to land, the big fish are still there. We had 4 spring salmon landed this week with a few others on. Looking promising for the rest of the month.#gordonpollocksalmonfishing #salmonfishingrivertay #dunkeldhousesalmonfishing #rivertay #springsalmonfishing
