It will take just about the full morning or afternoon to fish it down, It can be a great bit when there are springers moving through or sitting in here . Just make sure you have enough backing on the fly reel !!!

This can be a really good pool to fish with the fly especially when there is running fish coming through the tail they might not show much in the early part of the season but as the water warms up the second half of the spring they usually show coming into the pool. The Ivy Tree pool on the Dunkeld House beat, These stones at the top of the pool can be a great spot for a fish in bigger water there often just a few yards from the bank. In lower water it needs a deeper wade and a longer line to cover the pool better but its a very easy wade in low water .

The Ivy Tree pool in all its autumn glory.  Its a really nice cast with the fly up here, with the bigger water you will often pick fish up close in to the left bank. And as the water drops its more mid stream you will look for them . On the bend in bigger water is one of my favourite bits up here is on the bend on the bottom half of the Ivy Tree pool .
