The early part of the season on the Tay is very different from the warmer water off April on wards. This time of year to put your chances more in your favour with the right selection of tackle. You don't need to carry loads of flys just a few good patterns tied in different sizes and weights . The key is to fish your fly deep and slow. So make sure you carry a good selection of lines and good sink tips to get your fly down to the fish .
